How do I join the NAWI network?
Joining the NAWI Network is easy! Simply follow NAWI on LinkedIn and subscribe to our newsletter to stay current on NAWI news, events, and offerings.
Who can join the NAWI Network?
The main criteria for joining the NAWI Network is a commitment to the common goal of advancing water treatment research in the U.S. and stimulating research collaborations between NAWI members.
Individuals or groups from any U.S. organization with an interest in advancing water treatment science and technology (including private sector companies, educational institutions, nonprofits and nongovernmental organizations, and Federal and state agencies) should follow us on LinkedIn and subscribe to our newsletter.
What is expected when I join the NAWI Network?
We ask those who are part of the NAWI Network to please:
- Embrace NAWI’s vision and mission.
- Participate in NAWI events, as you are able, including webinars and virtual meetings.
- Engage with the network on NAWI’s LinkedIn page, as you are able.
My organization has an interest in advancing the state of the art of desalination, the treatment and beneficial reuse of nontraditional water sources, or the policy issues associated with these subjects. How can we get engaged with NAWI?
You can engage with NAWI in two ways:
- Engage with the NAWI Network on LinkedIn and subscribe to our newsletter.
- Seek out and partner with water treatment researchers whose projects align with the goals of your organization. Every project funded by NAWI needs active industry engagement.
My organization is a for-profit company. Are we eligible to receive direct funding for research projects we propose?
U.S. private entities eligible to receive federal funding are eligible to submit proposals. It is unusual for private companies to have experience conducting early-stage applied research (most private-sector R&D is directed to higher technology readiness level [TRL] activities than the TRL 2-4 scope the DOE has defined for this project). In some cases, it may be easier (especially for companies that have not previous received and managed federal funds) to partner with an academic or national lab researcher.
